Hi,
I want to replace my JD 1050 with a new Kubota. Which Kubota would be of equivalent size. We dont use the tractor much at all, but I need something that would move my round bales of hay. I have a hay spear that attaches to the front of the bucket, but have to attach an implement on the back for balance.
What do you suggest. I dont want to spend more than I have to.
Thanks for any help

Probably 37XX Kubota would be it. Also checkout the JD990, more HP than your 1050. ....

The 1050 is a 33 pto horsepower tractor with 36 net engine horsepwoer so you would be needing to go to the L-4300 for an economy tractor that would give you a little more as they have 37.5 pto horsepower. The grand L-series equivelent would be the L-3830 at 32 for a gear or 30.5 pto horsepowerfor a hydro or the L-4330 at 36 or 34.5 pto horsepower on a hydrostatic drive. ....

If you plan to move round bales, you may want to reconsider the size tractor you a looking for. Especially if you are moving round bales on the FEL with the spear. I would suggest something in the John Deere 4610 or 4710 size range. If you're sold on orange paint I would be looking at the L4630 or L5030. ....

Let's take a look at what we are used to and what we want to do. You have alot of land there and I assume the round bales need to be carried to your base operation and you have a neighboring farmer baling it for you. I would recommend going with a quick attach on the bucket and bring the load closer to the tractor and improve the stability. You can do that on the tractor you have. For about 1200 you could have a new QT bucket, QT bale spear and the QT assembly on your current loader and tractor. Are the bales from a 1000lb baler? ....
